NNARPD Participates in the Arab Regional Session of the Youth to BEATPOLLUTION Initiative

Towards More Inclusive and Equitable Environmental Policies

On October 4, 2025, the National Network for Advocating for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities participated in the fourth regional session in Arabic as part of the Youth to BEATPOLLUTION initiative, organized by the Children and Youth Major Group to the UN Environment Programme (CYMG UNEP). This was in preparation for the seventh session of the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA-7) of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

This participation comes within the framework of regional interaction with international efforts to confront increasing environmental challenges, as issues of pollution and the deterioration of natural resources represent one of the most prominent challenges affecting human life and the future of coming generations. The session provided an important dialogue platform for exchanging visions and proposals on comprehensive and equitable environmental policies, with a focus on enhancing access and participation for all groups.
Through its participation, the network affirmed that environmental justice cannot be achieved without including disability issues in environmental policies and plans, and that sustainable environmental action must take into account human diversity and be based on the principles of equality and participation.
The network also emphasized the importance of integrating the environmental dimension into educational centers for persons with disabilities, as these are vital spaces for building environmental awareness and promoting values of responsibility towards nature and society. A clean and safe educational environment contributes to forming a generation aware of sustainability issues and capable of contributing effectively to environmental protection.
This participation expresses the National Network for Advocating for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities’ commitment to being an active voice in global environmental issues, and it seeks to make environmental justice a reality that is translated into education, policies, and daily practices, based on its belief that sustainability can only be achieved by including everyone.
